We must remember that today's Shotokan athletes and coaches are frustrated by the politics, and tired of inconstancies, that spoil so many championships. Those that compete want only to be exposed to fair, intense, challenging competition. Period. Once they step onto the floor - nothing else should matter. The traditional criteria of the 2013 Berlin Ippon Cup is simple, modern, and classic - all at the same time. For Shotokan these are the only criteria that matter: Form, Spirit, Power, Intent, Timing, Distance, Finish. If you share this view of karate-do - we invite you to compete with us in Berlin!
